looks cleaner than just drilling holes into the stock part and pretty easy to do. Just some bondo fiberglass jelly, some sanding, and some paint. oh, and make sure you glue the stock blanks inplace before using bondo.

thanks...its nothing too complex it just takes alot of patients

1. glue the stock blank buttons onto the framing piece (I used jb weld cause i didnt have any superglue) note: put the glue on the back side cause you dont want to have to sand it off the front.

2. Get some Bondo brand fiberglass resin jelly (walmart). you dont need any fiberglass matting

3. Mix according to directions and smear it onto the entire surface of the pannel. Try to fill in the seams.

4. Sand it down. This takes a long time and you may want to use a dremel to take off some of the build up areas.
(repeat steps 3 and 4 as many times as it takes to get the surface smooth)

5. Drill/cut your holes for your switches or lights. (you are still sort of limited by the size of the stock buttons cause the framing between the blanks is kinda think and hard to cut through.)
NOTE: you will want to do this before priming or painting incase you mess the surface of the bondo and need to fix it....learn from my mistake.

6. Spray on some primer filler and sand some more. i got this stuff shining smooth with 1000 grit before i was satisfied. If you wet sand to a shine you can see more imperfections.

7. Choose your color and go to nutz.

- you can test fit it but i wouldnt recomend puting it the whole way in untill you have everything hooked up cause its not that easy to get off of the dash and you may scratch the paint...thats why mine is sticking out a lil bit in the pic.

im not sure but there may be enough room to put an extra gauge on the bottom part of the pannel. I was gonna put a push button starter but i found out the nice ones were 70 bones so screw it. Im very happy with the results and i was thinking about doing the piece around the center vents too.
