#44735, "Automatic door opener mechanism"

Sorry, I don't know the technical name for them. But my driver side door handle broke and I think my passenger side on is on it's way out. I don't plan to pay and arm and leg to get new PLASTIC door handles so I'm just going to shave the handles when the car gets repainted. Anyways, is there some kit to automatically open the doors? I'd have to guess there would a universal kit. Someone please point me in the right direction. Thanks.

I left my car in a parking lot over night and someone broke off my door handles so i went with the shaved door handle kit. I got mine off ebay it was two 35lbs solenoids which is more then enough. It took about 6 hours to install them. All i can say is that i love them there is also a safety switch that u mount on the outside of ur car somewhere so if u leave the remotes inside u can still get in. Trust me u will like them. Also it looks cool when u use a remote to pop open the doors for the ladies.

does this kit come with everything i need? i am looking to go this route too because i am getting all my bodywork done and a new paint job at the end of the month, so i might as well shave the handles now. or is it better to go with a name brand kit like autoloc?

Here is the kit i got http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2410669218&category=33696 the only thing i had to buy was some wire. The instructions r easy to read and the install was easy except for running the wires to the inside of the doors. If u guys have ne questions about the install i'm more then willing to help.

if you were integrating door poppers with your existing alarm wouldn't you just need the solenoids? and i guess the switch to mount somewhere on the car. anyone know how many channels these use typically? i'm assuming one per door? or is there a 3rd to pop both simultaneously. personally i think you could put a kit together yourself for waaaay cheaper than $100 if you've got extra channels on your alarm to use. relays are like $1 each... you reallys just need to find some suitable solenoid an stuff. can't possibly run you more than $50 or so on parts. i dunno just my $.02... i might do it myself when i upgrade to an alarm w/ more channels. i dunno seems to me it'd make more sense to have one remote for everything.
