I remember a while back someone saying that you could cut a wire in the taillights, and when you had the lights on, then the taillight would blink back and forth.

Any help is appreciated!!!

Here is a mod from a fellow DSM member but I don't have the site where it was posted. This will give you a hyper-blink when your lights are on and you use your turn signal:

Parts List:
Set of 1004 Bulbs

Tools:
Grinder bit
Power Drill

Procedure:
Go to any automotive store and buy a set of 1004 bulbs.
Notice that the bulbs only have one filament(the little
wire in the glass). Take your powerdrill and place a
grinding bit into it. Take the bulb and grind down one
of the little nubs that is sticking out of the side
but be careful not to grind too far down. Now take the
bulb over to your car and replace these bulbs marked
with an "x" in this diagram:

oox{center}xoo

Place the nub in the lowest slot so that it is held
in place and then your done. These bulbs only work
when the lights are on. They hyper blink when you
use your turn signal and they relay when you use
your hazard lights. But again this only works when
you have your headlights or parking lights on.

its the middle wire -- cutting the middle wire on the turn signal causes this.

Someone else please confirm -- too lazy to go look at the car.

2003 VW GTI 1.8t.. I used to have a 95 Eclipse but well...water sucks.

tell you what, cut the green/white wire or you can go get a set of 1156 bulbs, that will fit perfectly in the socket. that'll save you from doing any cutting or any un-needed extra work. just cost you no more than 3.00 at a parts store. the 1156 bulbs are a single filament bulb.

yeah that's my bad. i forgot it was that one. i cut that one my first time and it's been a while since i've had to do that. plus since i redid my blinkers to have the outside socket flash, i had to cut a few different wires with that setup. i would suggest just using a single filament bulb like a 1156. it'll work the same than have to cut a wire.
