Now i know this has been asked before, i have searched for past posts, but came with no success, well i was wondering what is the BEST way to paint interior? Steps, Procedures, tools, etc. (i have a 97 eclipse) I want to start a.s.a.p like tomorrow! lol so if anyone can help this man out here, that would be great, thanks,

take each part out, wash extemely well, paint with duplicolor vinyl/carpet paint. I did my entire interior like that, everytihng is perfect except the kick panel. I guess i need to pick up my feet when i get in, it tends to chip the paint away, but all i do is repaint and its good for another month or two.

you will only need a screw driver and some sockets/wrench

agreed. when i painted my interior stuff, i wiped it down with alcohol (88cents at wal-mart for a gallon), sanded (you dont have to do this though), cleaned a little more, and then primered, painted and clear-coated everything. i was painting them white, so i used two coats of white primer, 3 coats of white paint, and 3 coats of clear-coat.

youll need:

masking tape: 2 bucks at most (i used this for the glove box, but not for any other panels)
alcohol: 88 cents
primer: 2 bucks (will cover the roughly 3-4 panels)
paint: 2 bucks (same as above)
clear coat: 1.25 (same as above)

ive had it on for about 2 months, and it looks brand new. i can scratch at it with my keys/fingernails/etc. and it doesnt chip at all.

on a side note, has anyone heard of the new krylon paint formulated for plastic? supposedly you dont need any primer, and it has a higher elasticidy (sp?) than normal paint, so it can withstand flexing better. i happened to see one commercial for it the other day on the home & garden channel.

dying turned out great. If you want gloss, it's not that great. I think my dye job looks really clean tho. I am really impressed by my interior.

I used that duplicolor to dye my dash my doors and my center console. It started flaking off my doors so I am either gonna dye them again or wrap them with the right color vinyl. I haven't decided yet. One of my boys is gonna be wrapping his with vinyl and I wanted to see how his turned out before I tried it. He will probably let you all know how it turns out once he is done. If he doesn't I will let yo all know how well it works. Or if someone else has already tried it let me know.

i used SEM vinyl paint. it works great, i had no troubles with it. i am redoing mine because i want the smooth look and this time i am taking it to the body shop and painting it with auto paint and clear.

I used some Krylon touch on mine . Came out looking damn nice, if i had takin my time a lil more and prepped properly it could have been even better, but i was in a hurry as its my only car and i was goin on a road trip with someone in the back seat :p

what kind of paint is the best to use yf you want a gloss finish??
