#43540, "stock radio code"

I thought it was written in the manual but I guess not. Will a dealer give it to me over the phone with just my VIN or will I hav to drive my ass all the way there?
And do they charge anything for it? I heard someone say they made them pay to get it for them...

The code is on a red card that is the size of a credit card. I found mine in the glove box when I bought my dsm. I think they have to order a replacement card from their "corporate office" or somthing like that. the dealership in UT quoted me at like $40-$50 bucks I think. I decided to just go aftermarket. Hope this helps.

p.s. I have the factory infinity system

no cards.
I bought it used from a Mitsu dealer and when I went to see it the first time, the battery was completely dead so they had to reset the code for me. I could've sworn I wrote it in the manual. Guess not *shrugs
But anyway, I installed my system the first weekend I had my car and never needed it. Now, I'm taking it all out and need to put the stocker back in.
I'll call tomorrow with the serial # from the deck and my VIN#. Hopefully, the won't be dicks about it.

You will probably have to bring the car to them, but you could always try to get it over the phone first. All you should need is your VIN and the radio's serial code which is on the bottom of the radio. Just pull out the center console and find the serial # and write it down. When I got my code it was free since I already had the serial #, but I think they would have charged me if they had to pull the console and find the serial # themselves. Hopefully they'll just give you the 4 digit code for free so your radio will work emoji

Icalled and they said they couldn't give it out over the phone. I wrote the serial number down and drove out there and they gave it to me for free. However, they did TRY to charge me at first. I just asked them why the hell they have to charge me to make a phone call? He called and gave me the slip of paper back and said I was all set. emoji
