Has anyone ever made something or brought somthing to put under the front bumper so it wouldnt crack on impact from bumps ? Maybe aluminum or a soft metal ect ?

actually, putting stuff behind it for support, under it, etc would probably increase the chances of cracking. I would think. Gonna make it lower or not let it move AT ALL. It won't move much, but it will give a little if you get a good kit. Just be careful. Don't drop your car extremely low either if you want a kit. I went from sportlines to pro kits and I love it.

Yes, I am actually curious if there is anything at all to strengthen a fiberglass front or anything to prevent it from cracking. I cracked mine recently and its pretty bad. This was all from just taking a ramp from a parking lot to a street. If there is anyway to prevent this, lemme know. Cuz it sux having to keep fixing fiberglass everytime it cracks. Hell, fixing and repainting ain't cheap...

yeah i know what u mean. i'm planning on using a thin yet flexable board. don't really know how to describe it but its similar to the board that covers the spare-tire well. going to use a dremel to shape it to my blitz front and paint it black. not sure about mounting though.

I you have a fiberglass front end its just the nature of the beast if it gets cracked. Urethanes the best way to go If your really worried about cracks. Just be carefull where you drive and you'll be ok.

Would a bodyshop repair and paint cracks in the front clip relatively cheap? Or would it be cheaper just to get a new one.

i have a custom plate under my front bumper, for support and less stressing and flexing at high speeds, plus if you detail your engine bay, beleive it or not, it keeps out alot of dust and debris.

we used a regualar sheetmetal from the your average lowes. took the front bumper and designed a prototype skid plate( we used card board) under the front bumper. we cut the card board into making it look like a actual plate.
then we placed it on the sheet metal, and basically cut around the card board. then we sanded the edges, and installed with twist lock screws, about 8 of them, for a quick drop and reinstall. looks pretty good and it doesnt take long to construct, not to mention it weighs nothing.

Remy, get ahold of me, i can make you a nice carbon fiber splitter. Or if you prefer i can make one out of aluminum. In my opinion the carbon fiber looks better. The CF will crack if you hit hard enough, but it still helps protect your bumper, but also aluminum will bend, so you have a choice. Think about it and let me know. You'll need a set of stabilizers to keep it secured to your bumper better. Sparco makes some nice stabilizers.
