well, finally got a door from the junkard.. anyone have directions or links on how to do a door shell swap?
i was just gonna swap the door skin.. but apparently its welded on and the door shell i got seems to be fine so i figured it'd be easier just to swap shells.
from what I understand the door shells are universal so basically you unbolt everything from the door and replace it with stuff from the other door.. then reattach door..
i've taken out most of the stuff, including the window regulator (this one's manual but the one i have on my door and plan to install is power) but i can't seem to get the door locking mechanism stuff off.. like the inside door handle with the two thin rods and the whole locking mechanism (someone's already stripped the handle off)
so how do you remove the locking mechanism and would it be hard to move the power window regulator from my door to this one? also need to install the glass from my door to this one.. any help would be appreciated

muahaha got the door mechanism off! noticed that there were these 3 star-type screws with like 5 or 6 ridges (dont know what theyre called) that hold the whole door locking mechanism in place, and unscrewed those.. and the thing popped right out
so all i need now is to figure out how to install a power window regulator.. and glass..

jesus, i feel your pain, all that stuff is a pain to get to.
i would imagine that all the holes for every option of door should be there, as it would be easier for mits. to produce a universal door than a specific one. i could be very wrong though.
i might be going inside my doors in the next few days to check on thge status of the sound deadener and take out some speaker baffles im not using, so if you have any more questions just post them here, ill see what i can do.
