I bought these

from auto zone for 25 bucks and took them home and started installing them. I cut the factory horn out, the green and black wires were left. I connected the green to the pos. on the compressor and the black to the neg. on the compressor. I hooked up the hoses and basically it's shitty as fuck. The compressor is loud as shit, almost louder than the horn, what did i do wrong, they sure as hell aren't close to 125 decibles, did i mess up?

double check to make sure all you're connections are good. i did this too, just look to the right of the intake. and yes, it's loud!!!

last time i saw one of those set ups i thought that it had a constant to the battery (12v) a neg and a remote because the power from your stock horn won't be enough to power the compressor...... but i could be wrong

Yeah, you need to use a relay to power the compressor. There is not enough power on the horn circuit to run the compressor. Did you get a relay with the horns? There is one listed on the parts list on ebay - you should have gotten one. It's a little black box with 4 electrical connections. Standard relays have numbers next to the posts 30, 85, 86, & 87. Corbin has a nice diagram of how to use one in his fuel pump rewire writeup. http://www.2gnt.com/www/corbin/rewire.html Wire the horn just like that, except substitute "air compressor" for "fuel pump" and also substitute "Stock fuel pump power/ground" for "Stock horn power/ground". You should end up with
87 - to Battery(with inline fuse)
86 - to stock horn power
85 - to stock horn ground
30 - to air compressor positive
Also connect the stock horn ground to the negative terminal on the compressor, and you should be all set.

EDIT: Forgot to mention. You will be able to scare people with this horn it is so loud. I love mine. Bystanders jump when I hit it....and as far as cars are concerned - it's as close to a siren as you can legally get.

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.
