ok i want my center tailight painted but i don't really wanna take it to a body shop and i've taken auto body in high school a little so i have some experience in sanding and stuff like that. anyway is there anyway i can paint it and make it look pretty good? what grit of sandpaper should i use and what would be the best paint to get cause i don't have a spray gun or anything like that. thanks for any help! emoji

Rough grit and spray paint will work.

Sand it rough and paint twice.
Then sand it fine and paint twice. Use clear coat if you don't have it already mixed with your paint.

That is how I did it. Might not be perfect but it looks good on my car.

scuff the surface with 120-140grit or so, then using sandable primer, clean, prime, let dry, check for dimples/scratches, sand with 200-220grit if necessary, clean, prime, check for dimples/scratches, sand with 220-240 if necessary, clean, spray a "tack" coat of paint onto the area, DON'T sand, then spray a light coat, sand with 400, clean, spray a light coat, sand with 400, (you can do this step again, but it's not necessary), clean, spray with clear coat of your choice, sand with 600, clear coat, sand with 600, then use rubbing compound ~1500 grit on a soft cotton cloth and buff until shiny, wait at least 2 weeks before waxing That should do it man, any questions just IM me or PM me. Good luck
