#40002, "Carbon Fiber Turbo Spoiler"

Anyone see this post on DSMtalks? It's a groupbuy carbon fiber turbo spoilers.
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32761#newpost

I stumbled across it cuz i'm looking for a turbo spoiler. The CF one I think would look great on a black car.. i'm not so sure about other colors though. Definately no performance gains, I know the oem one isn't that heavy to begin with.. it would purely be for looks and bragging rights.

If any of you people with turbo wings already gets this, sell me your OEM one. emoji

I am in! I've been wanting to get one, too, but I would prefer a CF one. It will look good when I get my CF hood!

The OEM one weighs in at 25 lbs. Thats pretty damn heavy for a stock spoiler IMO.

If yours is 25lbs, maybe I got a special one. My fiberglass wing was about 25, but my OEM is about 5lbs. I can't imagine any gain from it being lighter.

So you think it would stand out too much? More then a CF hood does? Isn't that the point? I think it would look pretty damn good on a silver car, especially after I get a CF hood, just my $.02.
I put my name on the list, but I haven't heard back yet.

I think all carbon fiber is lame. Its not like gold or anything. people get carbon fiber dash kits and stupid crap. So its light weight? So just get the hood which actually does something. All this other carbon fiber shit is ridiculous, and that spoiler is the worst. ANd how about the carbon fiber headilghts? Whats the point? Bragging rights? Its cabron fiber for god's sake, not gold or platinum, real bragging there. Soon we'll just make an all carbon fiber car as ridiculous as it sounds.

I got banned for being a constant tard.

Actually they do make all composite (carbon fiber, kevlar, etc.) cars... they are called formula one... ever heard of it?
Plus many other racing teams use carbon fiber as it is actually more valuable than gold... can you imagine a gold racing car... ridiculous

mrlocalpimp at it again! Does this guy ever quit? So why did you put an eclipse front on a talon? It doesn't make it go faster! WHy did you paint it Yellow? It doesn't make it go faster! Hmmmm...... maybe you did it because you think it looks good? Well that is the whole point of the CF wing! Why are people so quick to bash? I will put on my car what I think looks good? And I would hope that you would do the same. That's what makes us individuals! Individuality, it really is a great thing!!!

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, so long as they agree with mine. I hafta agree with MrLocalPimp on this one, though. We don't drive F1 cars, do we? A spoiler isn't that heavy (and not even really necessary with a FWD), so why the hubbub? I think that CF is a bit overrated. Then again, I think that body kits are a waste of time. emoji As for the Eclipse front, it is better to fit a front mount intercooler in there. Ever hear of that? As for the yellow, he tried it, and didn't like it, so now he has a silver/grey car. Nice color. IMO.
So please go easy on each other.
He didn't attack anyone, so don't attack him.
-=B-= <===== devil's advocate, yet again.

I will get a CF hood one day...and it will be painted factory color. It's for weight reduction people, not for decoration!

CF dash kits for weight reduction? No, you have to remove something heavier...those stick on to the dash...they ad weight.

CF lights? Just a vinyl cf look, not real cf.

So yeah, it has a purpose...gold? LOL...a gold hood would be like 10 times the weight of your factory LOL Probably about 1000 times the cost of a CF hood too.

Wasn't someone on here talking about having a fiberglass body kit for our cars? Not like the flashy Blitz action, but to replace the heavy door panels, hatch, fenders, etc... If I remember right, it was to shave like 800lbs off our cars. Now I'm thinking, to save 50lbs with a wing and a hood is okay, but to shave 800lbs!!!? That's definietely worth it imo. I raced a buddy in his old 944 a while back and, even tho he had a 2.0L like me, his old Porsche spanked me hard since it only weighed like 1800lbs.
Maybe someone on here should keep their engine under 160hp and just see what kind of times they could do with just reducing weight. Just my thoughts...

I think someone needs to read my last post again. I was in no means bashing mrlocalpimp. I was simply making a point that the reason he does certain things to HIS car is because HE likes it that way. That is why I would get a CF hood and possibly a CF wing, because I like MY car that way. I know the whole point of CF is weight reduction, but I am not making my car a race car, and I don't race so I stricly do stuff to my car that I think looks good. I personally love the way CF looks. But instead of simply stating an opinion, he automatically bashes everyone else's opinion! I am obviously not alone in thinking this way (check his feedback). I have been on our beloved site longer then a day and I have seen this guy do the same thing over and over again. And all of that is MY opinion! And I value other's!
EDIT: By the way, I can't stand fake CF! Both headlights and Tails and what ever else that they make it with! But that people is MY opinion!
