How much is the typical paint job. Not a cheap run up in there and paint over top job. But , under hood some of engine bay, inside doors nice job. Nothing special like pearl or candy. It well be a sort of blue color, havent decided. Most of the car well have been sanded already and primered. Second-- My friend is attending a school called Wyotec, (the one in PA) He's not going to really know a lot on painting yet but my uncle kind of knows some things and my dad kind of knows some things. But neither of them know a lot either. But if I take all three of them and my abilities should I try tackling it myself for the price difference. I have a garage that I can turn into a dust free enviroment and have sanders and grinders and compressors and painters. I think I have everything I would need?

Your typical NICE paint job that has decent showroom quality shine and like glass will run you around 1500-2500 and up for basic paint job. This includes your 2-3 quarts and 2 to 3 coats of clear coat, and wetsanding out to a beautiful shine. It takes years, even sometimes decades to perfect your technique to paint a car. I have known guys who have painted in shops for years and they still can't get it right. I would highly suggest taking it to a shop that does custom work or has down showcars before. Remember, you get what you paid for, and don't expect a good quaility paint job for around 500-800. If it looks good now, how's it gonna look in a year or after a heat stroke during the summer. Even if you think you can paint it yourself, its all about layers and blending. Also when painting urethane parts (like my front end) it's very difficult to keep paint on it. You have to mix in a flex agent to react with the movement of body parts with normal drive wear and tear. Red is the most expensive color to paint, black being next in line. Your typical blues and greens and lighter shades are easier to paint, and cheaper in cost per pint/quart.

i just finished painting my quarter panels, hatch, front and back blitz bumpers. it took me a long time due to the shittyness of the kit. but if you have all the stuff you need. start masking. make sure you scuff the car good so the paint sticks well. also, make sure you paint with the car. nothing kills the car than a paint job that dont go with the car. good luck
