Just wondering if using the VHT Nightshades will be illegal. I hear that the lights still show through as if there is no tint, just making sure. Don't wanna do it and have to replace if they're illegal emoji

Light shows through, but if your not allowed tail light covers where you live, then niteshades is a no go - UNLESS you put it on real light.

I got it on the top of mine.

Just spoke to a cop in my area and here's what he said:

"You need a red light to the rear for brakes, and red reflectors to the rear as well, so if the covers would prevent the light or the reflectors from being visible then yes, they would be illegal."

How'd you do yours bro, tape off the bottoms and use it just on top?

Yep, just use a ton of masking tape and bags. By the time I was done the "prep work" my whole tail end of the car wasn't visible, it was covered in garbage bags. Then just take the Niteshades and do like 20 coats of it, VERY LIGHT coats, make sure you don't make the stuff run. It actually goes on real easy, and is very easy to use, plus it dries quick. If you have any questions keep asking away.

I just thought about taking off the lights and doing it so I wouldn't have to cover the ass of the car up, but your way sounds pretty easy too. Either way, it should work out ok, thanks a lot for the input man emoji

**Also, how'd you color your letters in the back, touch up paint?

I have an eclipse but I used the Nightshade on my tails. I ended up taking them off and painting them in the garage to keep dust from settling in the paint as it dried. It does take many, many light coats to get a good even coverage. I would suggest taking them off that way if you accidentaly do apply too much at once it wont run downwards. I will try and post some pics if I can get a hold of a digi cam.

Yeah pretty much. Actually got a can of touch up spray paint, masked it up and painted it (about 3 coats of paint and 3 clear coats to go over it)

Turned out pretty good IMO
