When i rebuild my motor next winter(after car is paid off), i'm debating whether to chrome plate everything, figure if i'm going through the trouble of dropping in a new motor, i might as well make it look good while it's out... What all can be plated? Can the exterior of the block be chromed? What did you pay to have various pieces chromed.... There is a shop like 1 mile from me that does plating. Will chrome hold up to the heat, or is there something else i should have done to it to make it look good, ie powder coating? Sorry if these are stupid questions... TIA.

So i could chrome plate the manifold but it would discolor... Is it a permanent discoloring, or is is something that could be buffed out with a little elbow grease? I just like the look of chrome. I want to open my engine bay and have everyone say "OOOOOHHHHHH, SHINY!!!!!" HA,Ha....

I know what you mean about the "OH!! SHINY! DAMN! That's CLEAN!"
:o If it's going to be a daily driver I'd recommend the high temp coating. But it's charged for piece from $45-65 so it can add up. Shows us when you do get it done.
