My stock 96 talon esi headlights have this terrible fogging effect on them, i don't know what it is or how to deal with it?Should I A.Take the lamp apart and scrumb the inside, then re-silicon the seal around the outside,B.Spend 279$ on some projector lamps that look sweet but is going to cost alot, hence slow down my rim purchase,or C.Take headlight assembly pack it full of pyrex and send it to afganistan,at least it will do some good over there. If anyone has a factory set of 96-99 eclipse headlights let me know, i might take em off your hands for a good price, and if anyone has a query on how to just fix em PLEASE, let me know...

Yeah.. you can clear up the headlights.

There is a write-up for it.. I'll search for it..

Someone with a white RS is doing it at a charge, but I hear its pretty good.

I didn't quite follow C, unless those doods need to put headlights on their camels for night battles or something. anyways, do A, that's what most do (or so I hear) and use toothpaste -supposedly that works pretty well

The toothpaste works but only for about a day.
USE Bug & Tar Remover. It works wonders! seriously. dont waste your time with the toothpaste. I used the tar remover on mine and it took it off really good.

Thanks, I'll try the tar remover, how messy does that get? Anyway, what would be a good type of silicon to use,I've heard of something called "pertex" I think is the name, I heard it was good to use,I think the reason why they became messed up was there is a moisture leak somewhere around the outside plastic?,Thanks for everyones suggestions.

if its just a moisture leak which is causing condensation, then open them up and reseal them. while you are in there you can clear the corners and paint the housing if you want. this happened to my drivers side headlight and i resealed it with some clear waterproof kitchen and bath silicon i got from home depot. worked perfectly! price $2.79!

Is it water fog or plastic deterioration? Those are different. Like the guy above said, with water fog you just need to re seal the assembly better. If its plastic deterioration, which appears as a fogginiess etc, then you just need to scrub the headlight.

On the outside, not the inside. What I did was got rags and mothers metal polish and 20/20 plastic polish and scrubbed like hell for hours, maybe 3 hours. Got it crystal clear.

I got banned for being a constant tard.
