I want a good paint job taht will last and everything, but not like all crazy, like a showcar. So how much do you think that would cost me? Thanks!

To do a complete color change on the entire car...I've been told that it would be in the $2500 to $3000 range.

Check out this post on general:

That job cost me $300. It looks awesome and has a 4 year warranty. Each door jam is an extra $40, and im sure for a price theyll do the engine. I did a complete color change from yellow to that silver. For $300. This is at earl scheib. If youre willing to pay more, than for $600 you can get a pearl color with other extras which looks as good if not better than a stock paint. Sorry to promote earl scheib so much but this place rocks. The paint looks awesome and lasts, as its a urethane paint not synthetic, and the service is great.

I got banned for being a constant tard.

find a car in a color u can deal with. save up and get a $3,000 paint job. It will give you a wide choice of colors (basically any color you want that doesn't change colors) and the quality of the work will be great.

wow, I'm glad that I'm gonna be doing my painting. I've got the sprayer, some left over silver from my trusty, (formerly rusty) buick. and I'm gonna be buying the stock red again, and walah, new car look for me. How much does it cost to have it professionally clear coated? That is one thing I WON'T do. I fucked that up on the buick.

If you get one of those cheap paint jobs, does it last? Do they have a warranty and what does it cover? And you guys say you can still see some yellow spots, on that guys paint job from above. If I got a cheap paint job on the stock eclipse color, would it still be bad, or his old color only visible cus his last one was macco. Thanks

Bryan

If u want to save money just sand off the old paint and primer your self. Yeah i know it will take alot of time and work but atleast you wont be painting over the stock color, and maybe not pay as much for the job.

dfresh

will post more pics when front is painted

hey, anyone know anywhere good in Illinois to get a paintjob? Everywhere I call says they don't do full body jobs, just touch-ups and shit. Well let me know. Thanks

why and the hell would you sand off the old paint and primer it your self..... if you knew anything about painting them you would only wet sand down your paint with 600 grit and that is your primer.... once you wet sand and prep your car will be ready for painting..... there is no body shop that would sand down your paint to the metal and then primer it.... they always use your orig paint as the primer unless there is a lot of body work......

i took my old celica to maaco.. and they painted it from red to black... but they didnt do the doorjams or anything.. any they got overspray everywhere... no clearcoat either.. but not bad for 190 bucks.... but if you want a serious paint job.. i wouldnt go there... we send all of our body stuff from toyota to this birkholz (SP?) bodywerks.... u could do it there or go to the real bodywerks in skokie.
