ok..i am thinking about buying one and i was just wondering.. see this site..

it tells how to install the voltmeter gauge at the very bottom..it says 2 wires..1 to cigarette lighter..1 to ground..i'm curious though..wouldn't there be more wires to connect to the parking lots so when i turn my lights on the gauge lights up? or does it light up because the cigarette lighter lights up? Also..there are 3 wires connected to the um cigarette..anyone know which wire i should tap into in order to get the power? is it just 12v constant? because i tapped into a wire behind the radio that powers up my A/F gauge..thanks guys for your help! i'll give you points

Blue one on cigar lighter I believe. Also every gauge uses a power and ground for the lights. You can ground the light ground and gauge ground together and then run the white (power) wire for the lights to your light wire under your dash.

oh..this dude's site says there's only 2 wires..12v constant and ground..if i wired it to 12v constant wouldn't the lights come on when the dash comes on too? or should there be 4 wires..2 for lights..1 for 12v constant and 1 for ground?

There are four wires. a, + & - for the actual gauge, and a + & - for the light on the gauge. The positive for the light should be hooked up to a power wire that turns on with your dash lights preferably. The power to the gauge should go to an ignition power source so it is only on when the car is on (ie: Cigarette lighter. Then just ground the grounds.

Thanks Adam, you got to it before I could. On my write up, it tells you to hook the lighting up for the gauge the same as the oil pressure one mentioned at the top of the page. It tells you how to wire the light up to your parking light wire so that the gauge will turn on and off with your parking lights.
