The other day...I was backing up out of somewhere...and I backed up a little far and didn't notice anything back there...it was about a foot under my hatch so I couldn't see it...I guess it was like something you tow with a truck...anyway it punched a hole in my back bumper...it doesn't look like enough to claim for insurance but I don't know its about a 2 inch hole...I use state farm for insurance but I don't know what they would say...I didn't really care that much because I know I am getting a body kit soon the only question I have with that are most body kits...replacements for back bumpers or just molded onto the bumper...and if I claimed it for insurance do you think they would write enough of a check for me to get a body kit...

The majority of body kits are replacement bumpers. I think that the Quwees widebody kit uses the original bumper with mold on parts. As far as claiming it under your insurance. I would not do it. You will have to pay your deductible and then whatever money you get out of it after that will not get you a kit, plus your premium may go up depending on how many other claims are on your insurance. My grandpa owns an insurance company so that is how I know. I hope that was helpful.

if you have a $500 deductable, screw up your muff, back bumper, and taillights. or just find some screwed up ones to put on. get an estimate from the dealership, it will be enough to fix it even after the $500 deductable.

Well not really. Your premiums will go up and you still pay that 500 dollar deductible. Insurance companies will try to pay you as little as possible. They'll probably give you around 300 to paint the rear bumper, and another 300 for a rear bumper, so around 600 if they use OEM parts, but minus your 500 deductible, and they only pay you 100 for it, plus your premiums will probably go up slightly.

My deductible is $250 and usually we get a estimate from dealership...and then insurance takes pictures and they cut a check...then you just pay $250 of the estimate...so if they said it was $500 in damage then they would give me $250 and I would have to pay $250...so would that change anything because I imagine a factory bumper would be expensive

Factory bumper remanufactured is around 250. Original factory bumper is probably around 350 to 400...up to you. Usually my rule of thumb is don't claim anything unless the damages are over 1000 dollars (minus 500 deductible). But you have a lower deductible, so it's really up to you...
