Im real interested in buyin a carbon fiber hood OEM style, but I dont want some cheap stuff, so which one would you go with? Im just worried about layers, a guy said sumthin about 3 layers being better than 1 layer(which sounds resonable) but which ones are the 3 layered? Which one would you go with?

-Fiber Images
-R1
Any other ones that are better out there?

Well, it also depends on the weave of the carbon fiber they are using. If they are using a weave that is 5.7 oz/yard then 3 layers of that would be 17.1 oz/yard...but if they are using a really good carbon fiber that is 10.1 oz/yard then three layers would be 30.3 oz/yard....almost double the density of the 5.7.

Ask them how many layers they use and the density and weave of the fabric.

Also ask if they are true carbon fiber or are they figerglass/carbonfiber composite pieces.

And finally see if they are filled, honeycombed, or just hollow hoods. Filled and honeycombed will be a lot more durable than a hollow one.

I haven't dealt with the other companies, but VIS is a good reputable company. Their hoods are top quality and fitment is great, I love mine. I'd buy any VIS product anyday of the week. Like I said, I haven't dealt with the other companies you mentioned so I can't voice my opinion on them, but you know my choice anyways...LOL!!
