I have a 95GST and installed a Pioneer 7000 (3 RCA outputs)
I installed an amp only for the subs. I lost all my fronts, but gained a lot from my rear speakers. Ive never heard them sound that good before.


Should I be getting some sound from my fronts with my after market receiver. I put the fader all the way to the front and its very low and crappy.
Why did I lose my fronts? Is it because its a component system and the factory receiver was designed for this and I just need a amp with my after market receiver to drive my front component system. Are my speakers blown? Did the guy that installed it fuck it up? (He isnt a professional) HELP!!! I have LOTS of bass with just my rear running highs and it sound crappy.

youre reciever might have an option called "non fader". if it does, turn it on. my pioneer deck has this feature, and when its off, the front/rear fade if messed up. try to turn the non fader on and see if it helps. only had this problem after i installed my amp too.

I used that non fader feature. No luck. What kind of speakers do you have? Doesnt that control the sub??

I had a shop install my alpine reciever , and this is what they said :
: the front speakers ( door and dash) are wired in series ( i think) and are wired to your front amp by low level inputs. You would need to pull them and rewire them/ replace the amp in order to get them to drive like they did with the stock system. :
I dont know if this is totally true, I plan on pulling them myself in a week or two and wiring them direct to the radio instead fo using the factory wiring to see what happens. I know the door has mid bass and the dash are tweets ( the stock infinity Speakers) so you might even need a crossover or an amp with a integral crossover built in. If anyone else has doen this, let me know cuz I too have a rear soundstage issue now withthe rear 6x9's driving all the mid and high range and the sub providing all the low end.

if they are wired in series then you're prolly only hearing mids or tweets and that the problem. but i don't think they are wired in series cause there's only 1 + and 1 - on each speaker, so basically, i don't know what to tell you
get different speakers...that crap they charge 1000 for is nothing but a wizzer cone tweeter, crappy mid and an amp smaller than a toaster , im assuming you got the infinity system ?

i was just thinking, with 3 preouts, it's possible that you have a deck that doesn't supply power, just the signal to the speakers. my friend's in dash tv is like that. you gotta wire up through an amp for all speakers. probably not your case, but there's a small chance that's what it is.

I do have the Infinity system and from what the guy told me is that he by passed the factory amp. I dont know if he knew what he was talking about because the same guy Installed a pioneer 7200 (2 outputs)on his 3000GT and also has the Infinity system. He is experiencing the EXACT same problem as me. What gives??
