A gauge cluster that would be hidden and replace your ashtray/cupholder? A friend of mine and I are always up for a challenge and we are currently designing a gauge cluster (or SAFC) that will replace your ashtray and cupholder in the center console. The piece would be made of fiberglass with a hinged lid (if we get fancy, automated lid...but not a definate).

I'm trying to get an idea of how many people would want one of these. If we get enough interest we'll make a ton of them since he's the maintnence engineer for a water park he has access to more fiberglass than God and can use it for whatever he wants.

I absolutely will not sell any before they are done. If I get 25 people on here that want them I'll go ahead with production and make a lot. By the time we're done it could be February, and then I'll announce the group buy.

All in all, this is just time for us. We haven't finished the design stage yet so we're not sure how much time it will take us to finish each piece. So we're not sure how much to charge. I would like those who are interested to respond to this and give a rough estimate of what they would pay for a piece like this.

Keep in mind I will lower prices for 2gnt'ers but I will be making some for eBay as well, so I want a realistic idea of the market demand for such a product.

I'm double posting this in the interior/exterior section as well as the pits so that I can get as much exposure on this thread as possible.

I'm serious guys, no messin around. If you like the idea, respond. And give me some suggestions too. Like vinyl wrapped lids is an idea I had.

the cup holder is my dear friend he keeps spills away from my self and seats, but a new gauge cluster cover could be cool to mount two small gaues in the corners for say boost and something else for sneaky petes like me that will advertise stock and be turbo...

or how about the lower stereo bin that would be cool although id hit the gauges all the time with my hand =)

You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.

If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good.
If you want it cheap and good, it's not going to be fast.
If you want it good and fast, it's not going to be cheap.
