Okay, so I've tweeded the interior of a Honda CRX before, wasn't that hard IMO, but I've never done vinyl. I would like to vinyl wrap my interior and do some custom work to my headliner. I have all the plans laid out, and I'm pretty good at this stuff, but I've never actually done vinyl. I can get heat formable vinyl very very cheap (shop prices...heh)

So if I was to just jump into this I would expect I would need vinyl, goot sharp scissors, razor blade knife, spray adhesive (I have very very good spray adhesive), a heat gun, and foam backing for making custom shapes. I have all this stuff, do I need anything else? And is this hard or not?

the only thing i would suggest is practice. its tough to get the heat level correct so you dont mess up the vinyl but its still "loose" enough to be workable. you mentioned you had good adhesive, thats pretty important too. the only thing about vinyl is that its show even minute imperfections, so make sure everything is foamed or preped correctly to make a smooth surface.

On that note, my adhesive I usually use for carpeting boxes (carpet doesn't show that many imperfections) sprays out like a spider web and can have texture to it...should I use a more even spray or maybe a brush on?

definately what SPL said; Vinyl is a PITA to work with IMO. It shows like EVERY imperfection, and pretty much one u mess up on a piece, you have to start the whole part over again. I prefer to work with Fiberglass IMO. But good luck, because if it works out, it will look tite as hell.

no, the adhesive wont mess it up, unless you for some reason sprayed a thick stream of it and let it dry competely, that might create little ridges that would show through, but probably not. just practice on stuff and youll get a good idea of the limits you can work within.
