#34079, "Talon Tail Center Section"

My first post!

A while back I saw someone with a (poorly)backlit center section on his Eclipse and I just got to thinking, can you take apart the center section on the Talon's tailights the same way you do the headlight clear (ie: in the oven)?
I was thinking about painting the center section, but first I would remove the black paint on the "TALON" then hit it (the lettering) with some transparent red before masking off the letters and painting it all up to match. Then, the reason I was asking, I would separate the exterior platic and mount one of those little mini neons behind the lettering before putting it all back together creating a little something for the Honda simpletons to dream about.
Any input would be, of course, greatly appreciated. TIA

Hmmm... Ive never looked into that piece, but from what it looks like, the outside plastic cant be seperated. It seems like its one solid piece, hard to explain. But it seems like one whole thing if you look at it closely, not like a piece of plastic sitting on top of the amber.

I got banned for being a constant tard.

I'll post this quick before anyone tries it. NO you can not do it with a ton of modifications. I took all that apart one day to try but their is a black cover on the lens. If you were to take it off you can easily wreck/crack the lens (and I mean easily because they are glued) Also, the light won't disperse correctly and it will look like you just have one bulb that barely lights up a circle area.

It just isn't that possible to do for the Talon, unfortuanetly.

He's right^^^. I took it all apart also. The plastic
is way to brittle. It MAY be possible but very doubtful. if n e one has the extra center piece try it if ya want, you never know. Dont risk it on your only one though. emoji

Honda's are everywhere. You can't throw a rock without hitting one.

Thanks for all the input. I think I have a lead on a back up section. I'm gonna take a lot of time on this and see what I come up with. I'll try to get pics one day either way.
It could turn out to be something magnificent...
on the other hand it could be a horrible mess of glue and paint, we shall see...
