Hi fellas. My name is frank, from ASOG, and this is my first time posting here.
I have an important question I hope somebody can help me out with. I need to know the diameter of the factory fuel door on the new (2000-2001) Eclipses, and if possible the diameter of the Aluminum ones they sell. I'm not sure if the aluminum are the same diameter. If you could tell me the outside diameter including the trimring, I would greatly apperciate it. Also, any links to sites who sell the aluminum fuel doors will also be greatly appreciated.
I plan to adapt an aluminum one or a white painted factory one into my LXi and I want to know if it will fit over my current hole for a door or if I'm going to need to do some welding and painting. Thanks for any possible help. You can email me at

Thanks. Looks like I'm gonna have to get some welding and fillin done to accomplish this mod.

the mitsu ones are pretty cheap cause they dont lock, anyone can get in your fuel door. you should look into getting the sparco one, its locking, chrome and looks a little better. thats the one im getting

Yeah, I'd like to be able to lock it. Or use it with my fuel door release lever inside the car. I saw a real nice one on eBay for a mustang. It poped out and swiveled around, not flip open if you get my drift. It went for $280, funk that. I'm going to get a estimate tomorrow for getting one modded in. Thanks for the help.
