Hey has anyone installed a power trunk release kit on their cars? my cable release isn't broke or anything - just want somethin so i can pop the trunk with the remote from my alarm. i was lookin at the universal one they've got on www.slickcar.com just wonderin if it fits an works alright on our cars. also how was the install? (aside from having to run the wires all the way back there) TIA

It seams like a long time ago someone tried to install one with those actuators that opened the trunk all the way up. Had a solenoid pop it open. What happened with that? And i also remember someone trying to copy corvette or whatever car it was and install those gas tube extenders to hold their hood open too. Someone fill me in.

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.
If not. Go here: here

If still nothing, your trying to hard. Start over at step 1.

cool. ya i was just askin 'bout those ones that do the same thing as pulling the lever next to your seat. not a whole thing to open the trunk all the way up. just wanna be able to pop my trunk by remote. thanks guys. will look into one've those.

oh d'you know if i could hook it up to the alarm myself or if it'd be better just to install the power kit, run the wires, an take it back to the alarm shop so they can hook it up to the alarm itself. i think there might be some programming of the alarm involved as well... the guys there are pretty cool though so i'm not sure if they'd charge for that. they turned up the volume on my siren and enable the ignition controlled door locking/unlocking today. only took a couple minutes too.
