Question on interior lighting: How can I wire two neon tubes so that they come on when the doors open/close. A friend tells me to just connect them to the wiring for the dome lights. Only a few problems with this. 1) how do i get inside the roof to access the dome light wiring. 2) my lights dim when the doors close. would this be a problem for the neons? I'm thinking maybe I should just take it to a shop to get this done. i've seen this type of lighting on cyans page. not sure how that application was done, appreciate any help.

Depends on where you want the tubes. I mean you could also wire them to the ones under the dash.. the footlights as well. And those wires are easier to get to.

sorry, cant do it to the dome lights, youll just have to use the headlights or something. i tried it, but our dome lights are progressive dimmers so when i wired it up the neon stayed on all the time, even with the doors closed.

Wire the power in from either the battery/fuse box/fuse panel or whatever and then just use a relay to trigger the power to the lights from the door switch. It's inside the rear panel just behind either seat. If you take of the plastic panel, you can look through the hole and easily reach the wires.

Maybe..... The rubber pieces that are inside the door sills. They come out, but watch for sparks if u have a screwdriver. There is some wiring there for the door open/close. Maybe this helps?
