Hey guys as far painting the interior. What kind of paint should I use. Also, do I need to sand it at all? Should I clear coat it?

AS far as the centerpiece, whats good paint to use. My car color is northstar white.

As far as painting altezzas, do I need to sand off the chrome in order for the paint to look right?

Painting the interior is hard, because paint doesn't like to stick to vinal. There is special vinyl paint, but I wasn't able to find any. I used regular paint and it came out ok. Sand it real good: 220 grit, 320 grit, 400 grit, then 600 grit. Prime it, go over it with the 600 again. Prime it as many times as you have to, because the primer sticks to the vinyl real good but the pait doesn't. Go over it with your color coat using as many light coats as you need. Use at least two coats of clear coats, sand between each coat of paint and claercoat with 600 grit. I did my interior in canary yellow. I painted the back of the console(the open rs version), the ash tray, the cup holder, the trim around the door handles, my tweeter grills, and my back grills. It looks pretty good, but I only did it a few weeks ago, so I don't know if it will crack or not. The yellow goes real good with my yellow/carbon pedals and shift nob.

I just used Krylon paint! came out great, a nice yellow shade. I have gad this all winter and no chiping or cracking I just hope the simmer heat won't do anything to it.

Did you have to sand anything down at all?
I am gonna paint my whole interior with a black/red/white scheme.
I will probably have to hand paint it instead of spray paint.

HAND PAINT???? no don't do that man you will have brush marks.

I did my interior this past fall. I used red krylon paint and it looks AWESOME! Just make sure your parts are clean and free from any oil's. {Like oil from skin and especially armor all!} I had to re-do my center vent 3x to get it right. The little vent indicators in the center pop right out with a hobby knife to pry them out. Looks much better with them as original colors than they do painted over. I want to take white paint to the vent indicators on the center and the doors yet to highlight them. The door handle flashing is EXTREMLY difficult to get he paint to stick too. I had to actually sand them with fine sand paper and paint them with aircraft zinc chromate paint as a base. Make sure you let them dry for a few days before putting them back in the door. If you dont the paint will peel off in sheets. I did mine this way and they look very good, no scratch marks or anything. I want to do the speaker grills just have not tackled getting them out, since they look like a bitch to get out.

i painted my whole interrior white and lime green, i just pulled everything out the car, cleaned it real good, for the white i used killz cause it sticks very well and you can sand down the high spots, and i clear coated it, the green stuff i used the grabber green engine enamel paint, it works ok but it doesnt match the dayglo green of my car so im gonna sand and bondo the pices that i want green and get shop to paint them to match the car
