#3135, "what should i do"

i want to paint the centerpiece of my tail lights. should i do it myself or get some one to do it and have them paint the door handles and mirrors too. i could do the center piece myself but the paint costs $45 just to get 2 pints mixed + $8/pint to get it in a spray can. (dark metallic red...whats it called? its expensive) what do you think it would cost to get all that stuff painted at a shop?

If you go to a auto part store you can get a paint that is extremely close to yours. I did that and painted it myself. I am going to get the exact paint mixed eventually. But for now the color match is close enough. By the way where can you get people to make you spray cans of the paint you need. Did you go to a body shop?

Ya any paint shop that sells all sorts of auto and home paints will be able to mix and make a can for you. Make sure you stick to the factory PPG paint as that is the exact paint they originally used on the car, so it will be a perfect match (aside from any fading over time).
