What needs to be done to remove the steering wheel safely? If this has been posted b4, sorry, I tried the search. A blank white screen is all I got after 4 tries.

Disconnect neg. battery.
Remove 4 bolts behind steering wheel. Now the airbag part should be lose and come out,.

Pull airbag out and disconnect it. Then there is a big bolt in the middle. Take that bolt offf. Then I just pulled like all hell on the wheel and it came off. But be careful if it comes off and you dont catch it in time, it will continue to go inton your face and could mess you up pretty good with the force. People have gotten the wheel off other way than just pulling hard....but that how i did it.

I plan to use a steering wheel puller. So disconnect + and - battery cables? Is there an airbag fuse I should pull or anything? I don't want this thing making me shit all over myself.

he's right. if you want you can disconnect both pos. and neg but a battery cant run without a ground. And there is a airbag clip you gotta unclig behind the airbag. Once you undo those 4 bolts behind the steering wheel, the airbag portion of your steering wheel should slide out to a certain point and then the wire will hold it back. So just discconect it, thens its all good. Its reall easy man. When i took mine off i didnt get any directions, kinda common sense really.

Good luck

yah its a plug. It connected behind your airbag. Dont worry man, just go do it!! If you scared, wear a helmet, lol. Just unhook the battery and you will be fine. Take out the 4 bolts behind the steering wheel. There are what hold the airbag in. Then pull off the airbag as far as you can till the wire holds it back. Unclip the clip and the airbag will be discconnected.

Oh i forgot, you also gotta take off the part that your blinker arma and such are connected to. Just a few small screws. You do this afer the airbag is out.

Really easy. NIKE JUST DO IT!

so, with an aftermarket wheel, I won't have turn signals? WTF? I don't get it. I don't have the steering wheel yet. I was just asking so when it gets here, I can get right on it.

nervmind about what i said about the blinker. I was thinking the big bolt to get the steering wheel off was behind that....but it isnt. It is in front. I just took mine off when i took out my dash. So take I want that stricken from court records!!

Disc. battery
Take out 8 bolts behind wheel
Slide airbag out
Unclip airbag
Take of BIG bolt in middle
Pull of wheel.

well, my corbeaus won't fit, so I will probably be selling the momo trek. If they won't send me my money back, I will also be selling corbeau cr1's.
