What's the best grease or oil to use to get this squeak out? Also exactly which part would it go on? The little black arm or the bigger brackets? Just curious if anyone had delt with this already.
thanks
jeff

i've got the same thing, and haven't been able to get rid of it(haven't tried to hard yet though). i greased up the black arm thing where it connects to the body of the car, b/c it seemed like it was coming from there, but it made absolutely no difference. i haven't tried greasing up the hinges yet. i just used some basic axle grease though.

If I would've said that, everyone would've gotten offended.

It is an 83 Buick.

wd40 eats grease actually. i would never use that shit on my car. just get some ball bearing grease. its porbably the hinges, you should be able to listen to find out where the noise is coming from.
