I'll be installing my fiberglass front bumper this week and I'm wondering what (if any) steps I need to take before installing it. I need to touch-up a few areas so what grit sandpaper should I use? Do I need to primer it? If so, what do you recommend using? I've never worked with fiberglass before so any light you guys can shed on this would be great!

You can sand with 80 grit for major areas, but make sure you end it with 400 grit wet sand (with soapy water). Then primer over the areas you sanded that no longer have a gel coat over it.

Be carefull with the primer, don't prime the entire thing. Spray (can) primer should only be used for testing areas to see if they are smooth or not. The body shop will use a different type of primer that will allow the paint to adhere better and keep from flaking and bubbling. Any primer you use should be, for the most part, removed before having it painted...
