#30380, "F'ed Up Gas Gauge"

yes ive see all the many posts about this. my gauge sticks, it will stay at 3/4 for days, then jump down to E suddenly, sometimes its stuck at half, then jumps up to full, it seems to work right but acts as if something is holding the needle from moving. i have indiglos and they are not the cause. they are not touching anything.

heres my question.. when i take the guage out, its pretty stiff when i move it manually up and down, its very stiff if you compare it to other guages.

is that normal??? anyone got a gas guage for a GST layin around? or a NT if they are the same. is it possibly something else causing this?

My gauge is fucked, too. It will only go up to a little over 1/2 tank when the car is full, but when the actual level in the tank makes it to that point, it works as it should. I had a bezel and all the stock gauges from an avenger when I was at the junkyard one day, but I said to hell with it and put them down. I've been kicking myself in the ass ever since. I doubt that the GST gauge is the same b/c they have 2 gauges stacked ontop of each other where as ours only has the one in each hole.
