#30358, "blinker question"

this problem is on my gf's car(93 pontiac sunbird emoji ) anyway, i was hoping you could just steer me in the right directions as to what's wrong. the left and right turn signals stopped working, and the hazards will work but gradually blink slower and slower until they are just solid. i know it's not the bulbs, b/c like i said the hazards go on, so what'd you guys think. if this was happening in our cars what would you suggest was the problem? i've never really played around with the blinkers in my car, so i don't know much about 'em. i was under the impression that, in some cars at least, there was a central "pulse producing unit", hehe, that produced the pulse that made the blikers blink, and that that may burn out over time, but i dunno if that's true or not. any help would be appreciated emoji . tia

Yeah its called a flasher, its a relay basically. I would try changing that or check to see that none of the bulbs are burnt out.
