Most of my black rubber/plastic pieces on the outside of my car, are faded gray because of sun damage and waxing I guess. Is there any way to paint/dye these pieces back to black? If so, what type of product should I use, etc... if this is not possible, do I have to go to Satan to get replacement stripping and pieces? Hopefully there are more options than that...

The trim on eclipses suck..my weather-stripping above my door is going chrome on me. I was thinking bout getting some flat black paint and painting over it but I'm too lazy rite now

nothing like driving with the windows down and the music low: i love hearing the turbo spool, swwwhhhttt!!!!

I repainted the weatherstripping above my windows because the paint was peeling... In my opinion, it aint worth it... I used high quality paint and it still didnt look right not to mention that the paint gets soft in the high heat because the stripping is covered with rubber....I bought new stuff at Mitsu for like 30 bucks, I would suggest that you do the same.

Is it easy to install the new stripping?

What about the big plastic piece under the windshield wipers? Can that be dyed?(sp?)

The wiper arms themselves are half chrome looking half black....are they paintable?

Just trying to get the small details worked out...

I've had the same problems. I repainted my windshield wiper arms, they are still black and they haven't faded at all. I haven't tried painting the piece over my window black again because I kinda figured it wouldn't last. I guess I'll be ordering a new one. Was it difficult to swap those out??

get some bumper trim paint. i put some on my front bumper because the body shop painted the little lip on the front that is supposed to be black. they painted it white. i just taped up and sprayed some of that stuff on there. its not comin off either

I work at a Car detailing place every once and while when they need me.. There is this stuff called CDN Detail Spray.. It's distributed from Old Forge, Pa... The shit seems to work real good on plastic pieces that are faded and also rubber stripping. I couldn't tell you where to get it from cause thats about as much as I know. I'll see if I can find a can of it laying around somewhere.

the stripping that goes around your windows unscrews from inside the car underneath the rubber thing that goes around the window...Its a few screws, no big deal.. As far as the piece that is behind your hood under your wiper arms, Ive never been able to get mine off, mies faded to hell too.... But if you can figure out how to get it off then let me know...Otherwise I use McGuires 2 week tire stuff on it and it looks good for a good bit until it rains for a few days.

to take the wiper cowl off, you have to take off the wipers. then i believe there is a plastic screw on each side. with those off, you pull up on the cowl from either side to get all the little tabs off. thats all there is to it. (i think, my car has been in the shop for almost 2 months now.)

only on plastic and rubber pieces not the painted. used it where it was faded from wax smear
