ok guys i did a search but came up with nothing...

i am going to paint my interior vents (not the dash, just the 2 middle vents, vents on the doors, and the cupholder cover and other cover on the RS console section). my question is do the vents just pop out? or do they have screws or something i have to worry about? and what about the covers? keep in mind i have an RS so i dont have the whole center console. also, i got this stuff from the auto parts store that is actually a spray can of the exact color green from my car and it is touch up paint. what is the best way to go about painting the vents and covers? should i spray one coat, two? how long do i let it dry? and what's the best way to paint it so it doesn't drip, or botch up? thanks a lot guys

REMOVE:
Ok the vents in the console will pull right out, but the ones on the dash are screwed in. And depends on what vents on the door your talking about...if you mean the ones on the top by the rearveiw mirror no that on is screwed in and you need to remove the door panel to unscrew two tiny screws, but if you mean the ones by the armrest itself then yes those ones pull out.

PREP:
To make the paint stick to the panels its a good idea to wetsand them down first. First use a 240 grit then move to a 300 and then a 400 and that should be good. If you don't want a smooth look then just make sure you clean the panel really good with soap and water and be careful not to touch the panel with your fingers before painting...because the oils on your fingers will not let the paint stick to the panel as well. You can also rub the panels with rubbing alchol as well before painting.

PAINT:
If you want to do it right the first time I would recommend painting the panels with SEM paint. If you don't want to use SEM you can use a krylon paint with a clear coat. I did about 3 coats of paint and about 4 coats of clear. But you will be able to tell by the way it looks and what look your looking for. The more coats of clear you add the shinier it will look.
