Anybody know what the stuff is that used car dealers put on the cars they sell? It's like a strong, enduring new car scent. I remember when I bought my car back in 2000 and it smelled pretty good for about a month before it went away. Now I've tried using over-the-counter perfumes and crap and it doesn't last at all... it smells good for about a day before it fades away. I'm wondering if anybody can hook us up with some of the real stuff? Or maybe someone knows what it is and where I can get it? Thanks.

I recall my dad saying that the "New Car Smell" is actually the glue they use in the interior, however...if its used there must be some other type of "New Car" Scent that the underground used car people haven't told us about ;o)

listen bro, go to pepboys and buy some new car scent air fresheners... there is this REALLY tight brand, forget the name i'll post it tomorrow... it is a freshener that actually sticks inside your vent deep in, just revealing a small rubber tip, but getting a really strong scent
If i had never gotten into cars, i could still afford to eat.

Its actually a carpet cleaner that makes it smell good for about a month. When I worked at a car dealership as a detailer I had to clean the inside of the cars that had maintenance done to them. One of the steps was to use this carpet cleaner that was pink in color came in a 55 gallon drum. First you would wet the carpets down with this solution after diluting it with water. Then scrub it in and vacuum up as much as you can and let the rest dry. The new car smell will last for about a month. I wish I knew where they got it, but I don't sorry.

open all the doors/sunroof/windows and spray it down with fabreeze, let it dry over like an hour with all stuff open. Works for me and has that new car smell.

I thought the Fabreeze thing was the "used car scent" like when you get a used car at a Ghetto dealer!! Ha ha... OK, I'll go crawl into a hole now...
