i have an rs so i dont have power accesories and i want power windows and locks. i have found some aftermarket kits that are around 125 for the power locks and 400 for windows.i was wandering if there is a cheaper way and i kind of wanted it to look stock so i wanted to know if i could use the door skins off a car that came with them and what all the process entails. also if anybody has done this could you tell me what route you took

There really is no "cheap" way to do it. The "easiest" way is to get the aftermarket door lock actuators and power window kits, such as Spal. I have installed many of their window kits,and they seem to work pretty well. You can go for a stock look by using the door skins off of a car, but they may be hard to find in your color, and just plain hard to find. Not cheap either unless you have some hookups. Even if you got the door skins, you will need to either find the stock door lock actuators and all the hardware and electricals to go with it, and the same for the windows, or use aftermarket window kits and door lock actuators with stock switches. The windows will be much harder, becuse you will need to basically switch out most of the inside door panel, as the mechanisms for the power window and the manual windows are totally different. Well, there are your options..

In my honest opinion, I would say your best bet would be to sell your RS and buy a GS...Its not that much more expensive and u get the power locks etc. plus other things like rear discs and rear sway bar and side skirts etc... this reccommendation is assuming that your RS is stock...If its not then forget my reccommendation.

what i did is i just got keyless entry along with my alarm. it didn't cost that much more, and is a hell of a lot better than getting power locks installed....i have a viper alarm and it's great...when u turn the alarm off the locks open and when u start the car they lock....for the power windows, i want them as well but like you said it's around $400 to do....and i dont wanna spend that much money on it =-c(

one question....If you dont have power door locks then what would the alarm actuate? You need the actual power door lock mechanism for any alarm to use to physically lock and unlock the doors.

I have keyless entry on my drivers side only. They added the power door lock mechanism, whatever its called, but it doesnt have any switches inside the car. The door unlocks when i unarm it and locks when i arm it

$400 for window kits? Try looking on ebay. They have constant dutch auctions running for the spal kit, I added it up and I think it comes out to like $127.99 shipped. Now if your including installation that's different.
