Broke into my car and tried to steal the head unit or something.... I dunno exactly what they were thinking...but they cracked all of that area around it when they tried to wedge it out with a bar or something.... I guess it's kind of hard to see in the pic...but it's cracked bottom right corners and top right....

I don't think it's more than the deductible.... the unit is fine...it's just the plastic pieces...can't be as much as my deductible(few hundred?)?.... I am wondering if anyone has made any custom stuff for that part of the car.... I swore I've seen it on here before....

Actually I didnt see anything worng in the pic! Last time when my car got broken in, there was a little plastic piece under the HAVC broken, the insurance decide to replace the wholw freaking dash, it cost $800 and labor $500 to replace it. I got the check and earn some money.

well.. looking at the pic.. it just looks like your dash kit that was broken.. am i missing anything else? if not, then just drop by a car audio place and pick one up for like 10-15bux.. problem solved. dont go through insurance for something that small.. unless there is something else wrong with the car that i cant see.

I think you're correct...I don't know the correct names for the pieces but..where the head unit is....and the surrounding black housing...that's broken....but then there is a black housing after that...and then the gray molding...none of that is broken...I think it is just that flat piece...
So you say $15 probably? Sweet.... Do I have to remove the head unit and stuff or what?

one time I was at the mall and someone broke into my car and got my subs, amps, and my deck and with a bar broke my dash and fucked my tanny when they got the deck out

yea, then its the dash kit that needs replacement.. really easy to do... all you need to do is remove the black housing (the second overlay), unscrew a few screws... remove the entire center console... just remove the shift knob and a couple more screws... then the dash kit should just be screwed into metal brackets... sounds a little complicated, but its really a piece of cake. if you need a bit more thurough (sp) explanation.. just holla!

Thanks man, I appreciate it! Now that I know it's a simple easy fix, I will wait until after I decide what to do with a sound system...maybe I'll be installing some other junk in that same spot...
