I wanna change the color of my seats, did anyone do this if so let me know how it came out and what you used and the price and where I could found it.

I used "plasticote" black vinyl and fabric dye spray paint, and worked out excellent. I used about a can on each seat. While spraying, i used a stiff nylon brush to scrub in the paint into the fabric to make it nice and even. Dont be afraid to make it nice and heavy, the fabric will soak it all up good. It may feel a little stiff to the touch after it dries, but use a vacum and a brush again on it, it will feel almost stock after a bit.

Did you remove the seats from your car to paint them? And did you paint the carpet with the same type paint? Thanks...

thanks for the help but could you post a picture of a stiff nylon brush and did you get into your car when it was raining and if so, did the paint come at all or would that paint be there for good.

yes. after you spray your seats they will be stiff when it drys. If you take the brush and go over it again it will make them soft to the touch again

Yes, seats were taken out to paint. I also used masking tape on the little red seatbelt release buttons to not get paint on them, just for looks i guess. After the seats are dry, nothing comes off at all..and just use that same brush to soften up the fibers of the seat after its all nice and dry. Works great. The brush i used i believe was a shoe polish brush or something like that..

ive been wanting to do mine but was afraid it would fade and look like poop. What color did you do your seats? And if you did them black like I want to do...did the color fade to like a dark grey after you brushed out the fibres of the seat. And pics would be great. I was thinking of doing a two tone. Tape off the middle and do it grey or silver and do the outside black. So if you could spare some pics that would be great. tia

Go to the store and try and find a shoe polish brush. It has a little handle on it, and stiff white bristles on it, thats what i used. I did black, and it worked very well. After brushing, it did pull up very few fibers, and you couldn't really tell that they were grey. Thats why you brush in the dye when its wet, to help lift the fibers and get even coverage under the fabric. Here is a pic, only one i could find that gives you an idea.. The seats have worn in some now after a while of being dyed, and i guess i might do another coat to touch it up. Its been at least 3 months since its been done, and still for the most part looks like it did when it was first done, just a few lightened areas that get abused the most...but thats due to some fibers that have lifted up and worn..the dye doesnt come off any..

if i was u find covers that match ur car if u can.. unless u like working on cars like me get vinial paint for the back of the seats $5 a ca & faboric paint $5 very cheap it just depends on how much time u wana put into it...

I was thinking about either getting new seat covers made or get racing seats, with the racing seats I was thinking the seat will be to low and I wouldn't see the road to good but I not small, I'm 5"11 lol, and I do have some free time since I work like 20 hours a week, but I won't have to much time when I start college in sept. till then I have some free time

here is mine: i just used dupli-color vinyl/carpet paint. I will post pics of my entire car next week once its runnin agian. My interior is fucking tight as shit.

how does the paint feel after ward... i did my visors with black plasticote fabric paint and they look fine but they're hard and stiff.
I wanna paint my seats also but not if its gonna feel hard or rough.
BTW i like the way u did your back seat, it looks tight as hell.

brush them again after they are dry to get them soft again

I think im just gonna hold out...I though about it all and if I save some money I can get my seats reapposltered in what ever color combo I want and with logos or text if I would like as well. I talked to a local appousltry shop and they do a lot of local imports around here and said it would be $220 for both front seats and $150 for the rear...but if I did it all he would make me a deal. That is to do my seats in black and silver seat fabric with mitsulogos on them. He said he would do leather as well but I didn't get prices for that. Cold as shit in winter and hot as hell in summer no thanks. I like fabric seats the best. So I think he will do all my seats for like 350 or 400. Or I could just go to walmart and get black seat covers for like $20...
