#2759, "broken interior panels and door trim....."

I was wondering if anybody else had problems with the panels on the door or trim pieces breaking. I have been through at least six door defroster vents and now my interior door handle and trim area around it is cracked up. The car is a 96 GS and only has 40,000 miles it. I am the only driver, and I treat my car like a baby <-- just as my girlfriend.

I need to know if there are other model year eclipses that may have higher quality interior pieces and trim than my car. Would a 99 model interior piece fit my 96 and would they be better and less prone to cracking?

I did have the drivers door window vent crack a small piece off the corner. I think those trim pices are all the same. So I don't think it matters, you break you either leave it or replace it.

Do you remember what you paid for the drivers door vent? Where did you get it? If it's cheap I'll replace mine. It's not that noticible except to me.

I got the door defroster vents at the dealership for less than $3 each. I am not sure how much other pieces cost. My problem now, is that the large piece around the driver's side air duct is all cracked up, and I did nothing to it. What do you guys use to clean your interiors and what do you use to protect them from the elements?

Be careful with armorall. From what I hear it works fine as long as you keep a constant coating of it on yoru interior. But if you don't the plastic/vinal will get dry and brittle. I use McGuires stuff.
