I need to know where to buy lights for my rearview mirror. Everyset i have tried burns the color off? after about 30min or total use they are not the same color...back to white with a tint or (red and purple <--- tried both). does anyone have experience with this or should i just go for a set of neons and wire it so that when the doors open and when i flick the switch on the mirror they come on?

Thanks

I took a different route, I painted the lenses on the mirror bulbs instead of getting colored bulbs. I used testors transparent purple paint and it worked great. The lenses dont get hot so I dont have to worry about that and I can just get regular replacement bulbs if they burn out.

I have Purple in mine. and have had for about 4 or 5 months now, with no burnoff. The bulbs I bought were a tad bit smaller then the stock bulb so I had to move the clips inside but have had no problems. But as others have mention at night my car is useless. I can't see shit since I replace that and the floor lights with purple bulbs. Going to have to add some Neon soon.

I just took some colored film that stage lights use (friends use to have tons of this stuff laying around for work) and cut it out to the shape behind the light's reflector. Slip it in and you can change to about whatever color you want. Never fades either.....

it should, I think be in your book that came with the car... But I just popped the clear peice off.. looked at it and then found the closest match to it..which as I said was a little bit smaller, Doesn't sem they make colored bulbs in the same size as our mirror/dome lights. hence the reason I had to adjust the clips inside closer together. As I said .. going on 5 months with em.. no problems. even when working on stuff in the inside and having to leave the door open for a few hours. Nothing burnt or short out yet. (knock on.. well you know.)

What size (numbers??) is the bulb you got? I think the stock one was like 214-2 or something and all i could find colored was 211-2 (something like that....forget exactly) and i put them in and they worked. But when they were on for like 5 minutes or so they started smoking a blueish smoke...so I took them out and put stockers back in. Coulda find colored stock size bulbs ANYWHERE. Know what size the hatch light bulb is?
