My driver's side headlight was messed up. It looked like the first layer was chipping off. This is what it looked like:


I had bought a new headlight to replace it, but then I found out I had to remove the fromt bumper to get to it easily, the only way I'm taking that bitch off is to put a FMIC in there.

Anyway, I wetsanded it with 800 and then 1500 (Thanks to a suggestion from a bud and my local DSM meeting)then finshied it off with some scratch out and some car wax. I then buffed it with my buffer and I'm pretty happy with the results!

You think that would work with a fogged 95 headlight?

When you say fogged, I assume you mean yellowed. It it's fogged because of water, just air it out.

It should work , but I would use that for a yellowed headlight as a last resort. Someone posted a while back about something that cleaned the yellow off really good. And a friend of mine told me he used rubbing compound and his lights came out like new.

Well here's the deal..the outside looks like yours did, with first layer peeling off. It isn't moisture in the inside, because I've aired it out, cleared out the corners, things like that...I've tried rubbing compound, toothpaste, mag wheel polish, plexiglass cleaner, nail polish remover, lighter fluid...you get my drift...nothing works!

U DONT NEED TO REMOVE THE BUMPER TO REMOVE HEALITE! I need to put that in my sig....shiet!

USE A LONG SOCKET EXTENSION and tuck it in between the bottom of the headlite and the top of the bumper, use carboard so u dont scratch the bumper up...and u can remove those two hard bolts.....

Well in that case, buy some sandpaper! Make sure the headlight and sandpaper is very wet. I started with 800 and then went to 1500 grit. I highly recommend a buffer if you don't have one. That really evened it out.
