#25488, "Two different rims???"

I'm thinking about getting to gunmetal/carbon fiber colored rims for my front wheels, as they're made for fwd, but for the back I've been thinking about getting some wide, deep dish rims. The dished rims are silver/chrome and I was wondering if I could get people to photoshop them on my car or give me an idea of what they think with the color combination. the gunmetal/carbon fiber color would match my car almost, and the chrome would attrct attention as well. Thanks in Advance.

Rice, rice, rice!!! Get 2 kinda rims if you wanna look like every Honda Civic rolling around Tacoma, WA! It also looks like poor planning when it's done. Like you just slapped some crap together with some stuff laying around. If you wanna get 2 styles of rims, put 1 style on 1 side, and a different style on the other. I still think this looks dumb, but not AS dumb. Just my 2 cents.

ok I'm conviced about the symmetrical display. new question though

What if I got the dished chromes in thebac and non-dished same rims up front? if I don't go turbo, I might do this. I wanna know what you think.

I assume you mean deep dish in the back and regular dish up front, like some bimmers do. Well, I guess that would look good, but I don't know about rotating your tires. I think you would have to have the tires taken off the rims to rotate them. I would guess that would cost some $$$ everytime you have to rotate. Just a thought.

Yeah, that would look hot, a friend of mine is getting that done to his Golf, 8 inch wide in front, 10 inch wide on the back. It will give it that "rear wheel drive" and powerful look. But like the last guy said, forget about rotating your wheels for even treadwear!!
You'll just have to buy new front tires, as your back tires won't wear as fast. You will most definately have to go with substantially wider back wheels too.

I think that would look good. And I guess you can just forget about rotating the tires. Most likely you will have unidirectional tires and the rear rims will probably be wider anyways.

Well, it would be phenominal to eliminate some of the off-throttle oversteer our cars have. What is that, you say? Oh yeah, we have understeer problems already! Well, if handling isn't your priority, then go for it. Honestly, though, we lose grip in the front faster then we lose grip in the back, so the DSM platform, especially in FWD trim, is more likely to kick the front end out, which results in horrendous understeer, AKA plowing. it has been suggested by several autocrossers to run wider tyres in the front then in the back. Just my opinion, though...

I'm going for looks, as opposed to speed. I have an rs auto, so it's slow enough already. I'm planning on making it look really good and then buying another car for go.

Sorry there Mr. Omega. I'm more focused on the "everyday rims" for the car. Not when you're out "battling" away, tearing thru tires. You don't have 2 sets of rims on YOUR car to make it look cool, like this guy is thinking. 2 kinds of rims for cruising looks is dumb. Now, I know the Honda boys do this same thing to make it look like they're battle ready, but lets face it, they can't battle! That's why it's ricey. So, to clarify my definition of this shit looking like rice, I mean it for the people that do it for the APPEARANCE to look like they wanna do battle, or they are just too cheap to buy 4 rims.
