ok well the paint on one of my door panels is chipping off real easy and doesn't feel right at all...so i want to strip the paint completely off and start over. try to clean the piece better this time and maybe do a couple more coats. how can i get the paint off completely, i tried a little paint thinner on a small spot but it didn't do anything. would a real rough grit sandpaper take it off? thanks for the help.

if it is chipping off really easily then sandpaper should definetly work. if you want to sand down the panels anyways this time, then might as well try it .what kind of paint did you use in the first place?? i didnt sand anything and mine doesnt chip at all, and it feels smooth. did you use clear coat? i clearcoated like a bitch on my doors. lemme know if anything else. peace

i used duplicolor vinyl flat black, and a coat or two of duplicolor clearcoat. i tried sanding with 220 but all it did was take of the clear i think (it looked like) and left a duller black that still wasn't too smooth. maybe try a rougher grit? like 100? or 80?
