I was talking to this guy a couple of days ago.. And I asked him how much a color change would cost.. and he said they start at $3500 and goes up.. Do you think he is telling the truth?
Also... Since $3500 is pretty high for me, since I'm a student.. My school has a paint shop, and you do it all yourself.. So what would I have to remove or take out to paint? What "panels" would I have to take out to paint?
Thanks

gut everything out of your car and paint it inside and out. My friend has a civic in the shop and they took out everything in his engine compartment, his interior, and his wheels. You could jus ghetto rig it up and paint everything you see from the outside though, I am pretty sure a Maaco or some cheap paint place does those for like $400....low quality though.

Check it...a color change includes taking off the doors and door panels, front and rear lights, bumpers, side skirts and moldings around the windows and doors...ect. Stuff like that. Oh ya, they take off your hood and paint it inside and out. The engine really depends who's doing the paint and I guess the amount you pay. You should expect all this work to cost anywhere from $2500 to whatever.....$10,000. $3500 sounds kinda high, but it also depends if you want it done really good, or something to last just a few years. but what ever you do...don't go to Maco...just put it this way. The BEST part and Most IMPORTANT part of a paint job is the prep. If that is not done right then don't even bother painting the car. Maco does NOT prep, they just paint over your old paint. So...good luck and I hope this helps.
I use to have a White 99 GS Sport with a Star Stage II Ball Bearing T3/T4 turbo...it was fun untill....well those who remember me know Oh Ya...this is what I have now... a 99' GSX...

Depends on who you go through, and how well you want it done. Shop around, but for a good job on a full color change, that sounds about right. Its expensive when you dont know somebody!

How much you think it would be to redo a stock paintjob......I am kinda diggin my blue/black exterior but want the blue redone so it isn't sun faded. I have spots on the interior that the sun has not touched and the color is.....*sniff* it jus brings a tear to my eye . . . . Besides that i think that a carbon fiber hood with the black roof and wing would look kinda phat.....In short...A Two tone exterior paint job.....hehe
