I just almost Sh*t myself on the way home from dinner I had an idiot pull out in front of me. I slammed the breaks, *girlfriend*=scared but ok, *me*=hit the f*cking steering wheel?

So I was like wtf? Drove around testing turns and braking it will not lock no matter what. The passenger does but not mine.

Side note: I installed a new seat when I first got the car and snipped the plugged wires(BAD! i know, but I was i a rush). Well I reconnected the small wire under the seat when I got home (did not fix problem)but the Other big clip under the seat doesn't seem to have a buddy to plug into.

anyone?

That wire has nothing to do with the seat belt locking up, all that is, is the device that tells your gauge cluster whether your buckled in or not, if your not, the little fasten seatbelt light is on and it goes off when you put your seatbelt on. Dont worry about that wire, I take my seats out about every 3 months to completely detail my car, so I never hook it back up. Where your problem is (keeping in mind I dont know much about seatbelts) But my guess would be there is something in there (nothing electrical) that grabs your seatbelt when its pulled fast. What I would do, is take apart both the seatbelts, look at the one thats working, and see what is diff on the one not working. Might just be something loose, or it might be something broke, in which case youd need new seatbelts. If that is the case, you might be able to fix it for free if you call mitsu and start bitchen about how you bruised the hell outta your chest cause there stupid seatbelts dont work. Thats what I would do. Guys????

hes right. seat belts are mechanical, not electrical. theres a metal bar that grabs the seat belt when you yank on it to hard. take your back side panel off and look at it. you might have to replace it.
