I've started to do the same thing. I ran across the problem of taking off the bottom part of the dash. The damn hood latch release thing underneath is preventing me from taking the whole thing off, it is just hanging there by the cable. Is there an easy way of taking it off without cutting cables and breaking shit or dismantling it all to hell? ALSO...how the hell do you get the seatbelts off? I got the quarter panels off already, and was trying to take the trim area around the rear windows off...but those damn seatbelts. please advise!

The cable for the hatch is easy, and when you go to paint the gas door and trunk releases youll run into the same cable. Get on your back on the floor. Look up, at the end of the cable it is attached to a small metal cylinder that is holding it in. It is in a slot, all that needs to be done is the wire has to be pushed down, youll see a thin opening for the wire to slide through, then the cylinder will slide right out. (Does that make sense to you?) If not Ill take some pictures tomorrow. Anyways. The seatbelts are pretty easy too. The plastic around them with the button that allows you to raise and lower pops right apart. Take a flathead and put it between the seem. Pop them apart. Then there is one bolt holding it in. Goodluck and be patient. I want to see pics when your done. Let me know if you need anything else.
