The inside of my car is always pretty loud between road noise and the droning of my exhaust, but right around the factory speaker/rear seatbelt on the drivers side there is a rattling that is driving me crazy. I think it might be where the seat beat is connected the the plastic. I have tried fastening the belt, that doesn't help.

Yeah, I've have the same problem and I know exactly what it is. The entire side panels in the back, the ones that the seatbelts sit in and the speakers are behind are held in with cheap metal clips. The clips rattle on the side panels. I'm not actually quite sure how to fix them other then maybe screw the side panels down on to the mounts, but you'll notice if you pull off those side panels and just leave them off and drive it or turn up the stereo it wont rattle anymore because those clips arent touching the metal brackets that hold the panels on. As far as fixing it i'm not sure other then some type of maybe silicon or somehow screw the side panels down. Not sure. If you come up with a way to hold them down let me know.

Those metal clips close around a small piece of plastic on the cover, then that clips in to the side of the car. What you can do is make sure that the clips are tight around that plastic piece. That way, when you clip them into place, they will be secured down and won't rattle. This is on every plastic part in your car, the doors, hatch, under the dash...ect.
You can take those clips off the panel and clamp them shut more, so when you put them back on, they will be very secured. That's what I did on my hatch...no more rattl

I dont know if I have the same problem as you but mine makes the same noise and if you push against the driverside door from the outside the noise stops. i have taken both rear panels off and still gotten noise but really have to crank stereo at that point. Hope this helps
