They will be brighter because the HID bulbs (35W) output is 3 times that of a conventional 55 watt halogen bulb. Also the HID kits are closer in temperature to actual sunlight in the light spectrum which makes them project light that is closer to sunlight. Halogens are lower on the light spectrum and cast the yellowish color.
Also, if you get an HID system, it will work with the projector housings great because first, they draw less power to use them. Halogens systems draw about 10 amps of current, where HID's draw about 6 amps. The end result is that less heat is generated by HID's and there won't be any problems with melted housings & such. Some people will put a higher wattage halogen bulb in their projectors to increase visibility. They probably don't realize that there is less space for heat to dissapate in the projector housings than our stock headlights, which will result in melted housings, and/or wiring harnesses. Heat needs to go somewhere.
It's also a good thing that you want to apply HID to projectors. If you try to install them with our stock headlight housings, you'll definitely get the high beams from oncoming traffic, and your high beams won't be as bright as your low beams. By utilizing HID, there needs to be a corrected beam pattern (reflectors), otherwise you'll be spreading 3 times the light through reflectors not designed for such output. Projectors project a beam and will be far better suited for HID.
Most cars that come from the factory with HID have projector headlights. Those that don't have projectors, have corrected reflectors to compensate for the increased power.

Sorry if this was kinda long.
