#21861, "blue mirror/fog controls"

well i have converted all my interior gauges over to blue via the same route as the hvac, the others being a little more tricky of course, especially the rear wiper switcH!. anyway, i was working on the mirror and fog controls tonite and just wante you all to know its a waste of your time. the mirror controls especially, even if you hold the led directly at the back of the button it will barely shine through due to the material used to make those buttons as compared to the others (hazard, rearwiper, etc).. just letting you all know before you try.

for writeups on the others visit:

My mirror and fog light buttons came out great. The ones that didn't show up too well was the rear wiper and the light that lights up the word cruise on the cruise control button. I don't have a dgital camara or i'd go out and take pics

thats pretty odd, because the ones you had trouble with are bright as hell for me! i dont know whats up, i mean i took just the button with the arrows on it (mirror) and held the led right behind it and it barely illuminated through!

anyway, whats the deal with your brightness on that button? mine sucks and all i can blame is the button itself.

yeah i havent been able to realy come up with a better way of lighting that one.. its somewhat dim on mine, but oh well. i guess what could be done would be to shave out some of the plastic on the inside of the button itself, but i have reason to believe that part of the cause is the color of the lighting itself.. like if you were to use a red or a green it would show up looking brighter.. as for my foglight.. its so bright that you can see it in the daylight.. while my hvac is not all as bright as i would want it, but havent bothered to mess with it for sometime. ill have to take some more pics of it currently.. most if it is the same as the pics on my site except for some recent changes to the fog switch and cruise switch which ive sorta broke and need a new face to it.. but it lights up, just cant get it to turn on the cruise control.

Not to stray you off the subject, but what's the size/part number for the little bulbs in the wiper switch?!?!? I've been trying to replace mine for the longest time and I can't seem to find the right size???

It's T-1 size (3mm). You can find bulbs at RadioShack. If you're going to use LEDs you're going to have to get creative with it.
