Ok Guys, Im almost done with my interior. Here are some behind the scenes (without any scenes) shots. Still gotta do the passenger side door, which is drying right now. Next will be short shifter with my new knob, (on order) and a new shift boot. Oh yeah, dyed the carpet black too. ENJOY.

It only made sense to me to do it that way, since I wanted the area around the handles red, it runs into the area over the guages, I was just surprised no one else had done it yet.

takes awhile, just gotta sit there and twist and tug and pull, once you get it about 1/3 of the way up (a few mins of tugging and twisting) it comes right off, then I just put it on a pop bottle and sprayed away.

i'm painting my interior right now too. just all black from the ugly tan. i used plastikote vinyl paint flat black on a few panels and duplicolor on some others that i've done and it seems that plastikote doesn't scratch as easy. i don't plan on doin a clearcoat either tho.

USAF - what did you use to dye the carpet? and where'd you get it cuz i wanna do that once i get all the panels painted. thanks

Mine is holding up pretty well, Ive had some pieces painted for quite awhile now. As far as the carpet goes. I used RIT Liquid dye. I didnt follow the instructions though, like how it says to mix it with hot water. I figured diluting it, it wouldnt come out dark enough. I just used the full concentrate, took about 4 bottles. Is dark as hell now though. Oh yeah, take your carpet out and do it. At least thats what I did. It looks like its brand new carpet.

I also used Duplicolor paint. I used Super Red 2 and universal black and I yes I did use a clear coat over it.It comes out nice and bright. I think if you dont use the clear coat it will start to dull eventually. I didnt sand it down before painting either.

hehe, I was traveling up to almost 2 hours away cause I cleared all the stores. I didnt use the duplicolor interior dye. The person that showed me how to do it a LONG time ago, showed me with Duplicolor Auto spray. I know thats probably not what its for, but I did it to my last car and to this one and it comes out great and havent really had much of a chipping problem

no its one of the door snaps that popped out when I pulled the door off. I found it on the floor, and didnt want to lose it so I put it on the seat.
